Well, Michelle Grattan, in "The Age" asks a good question: "Is he a Ruddy Socialist"?
I would like to know what the heck he means by all this word playing.
In addition to my list of "socialisms" in yesterday's Blog (Democratic Socialism, Chardonnay, Volvo, etc), Michelle Grattan quotes Rudd, from some time back, claiming to be a Christian Socialist (in the tradition of Keir Hardie, the famous British Labour Leader from the early 1900s). At least that is an honourable tradition.
Fair enough, I say.
But lets stick with a definition, and stick with a principle. Whatever you believe in Kevin, stick with it.
Wear the badge of Socialism proudly - or don't wear it at all.
On 24 November 2007, the Australian Body Politic had a Heart/Brain transplant. So far, it seems the patient is making a good recovery, but we shall monitor progress. As of 31 December 2007, the patient has been moved out of "Intensive Care". There was a period of uncertainty, under Kevin Rudd, and then Julia Gillard. On 14 September 2010 Julia Gillard was sworn in as Prime Minister, by the Governor General.

Apparently, Abbot has come out with the fact that Rudd back in about 2003 described himself as a Christian Socialist - a very honourable political/religious tradition based on Acts 2:42. So where is Rudd now - Christian?, Socialist?, or a closet Christian Socialist?
Good question, Miss Eagle.
It is precisely the point I am hoping we will find an answer on, in due course.
