Is Julia the answer?

Well, it obviously depends on what is the question.
The Age on-line poll does not look good for Julia and the ALP. (Go to the bottom of Michelle Grattan's report (see link above).

Poll: Are you more likely to vote Labor with Julia Gillard as leader?

Well, these self-initiated polls attract Nutters like myself, however, 102966 is a lot of people for such an on-line poll.

And so it really looks as if Julia might not be the answer at all.

Beware the polls of June - particularly those of a polldaddy type!

I keep reminding people that when Goss lost govt in Queensland he was STILL the most popular Premier in the country somewhere in the high 60s-low70s. Fat lot of good that poll was - and it didn't reflect the public feeling.

Newspaper polls of this sort are easily stacked and if I were organising things for the Liberal party I'd have the Lib followers on an alert email list so that they can go in and outclick the Labor party folk who may be doing the same. One person with access to more than one computer can do their own little bit to influence the numbers.

Hi Miss Eagle
Thanks.
Polldaddy? That's a new term for me.
.
Anyway, I am well aware that these polls are notoriously unreliable. However, I was expecting that thousands of women might have flocked to that Site, and voted enthusiastically for Julia.
.
Not at all.
.
No doubt Newspoll and the others are all cranking their computers up for weekend Polling.
.
Wait and see.
.
Goodness, if this doesn't produce the magic result, what will Labor do then?
Cheers
Denis
